• Prep is Key - Clear the area, gather supplies (medium-grade sandpaper, damp cloth, masking tape, paintbrush/roller, interior wood paint), and clean the frames. Sand lightly to provide a smooth painting surface and help the paint adhere.
• Protect Your Work - Carefully mask windows and hardware, and place dust sheets over flooring and any furniture that can't be moved.
• Painting Magic – Choose a superior interior wood paint (semi-gloss is popular) like Pentura Premflex, and start painting the window trim using a brush, maintaining a wet edge. Try not to overload the brush, and avoid drips by tapping off excess paint inside the paint tin. Paint in a consistent direction, along the grain if painting wooden window frames.
• For wider frames - Use a roller followed by a narrow brush for corners. Apply thin, even coats. Allow the first coat to dry completely, then apply a second coat for full coverage. 
• Finishing Touches - While the top coat is slightly wet, carefully remove masking tape to prevent peeling. Touch up any imperfections and clean splatters with a damp cloth.
